Founded in 2010, Cheese N Click Photography now has three photography teams; Hendra and Andre, Elfin and Handy, also Budi and Yohan. We are a group of photographers who love capturing unique moments, emotions, breathtaking views and ambience without limiting ourselves to any certain styles. We specialize in pre-wedding and wedding photography, and though we are based in Jakarta, Indonesia, we love to travel around the world.

At first we were taking photos of everything, and our best friend asked us to take their pre-wedding shots. In the end they were really happy with the result and we realised that making someone happy makes us happy too. It has been our dream to work where we can give something precious to people. We also love travelling and cuisine, and we found that we can enjoy all of that by being pre-wedding and wedding photographers.

We never have had a favourite technique because we don’t want to limit our. Besides, we take photos of people, and people are always different so we have to adjust our photos to match their characters.

We are glad to try any techniques, from wide to close-up, framing (see guide), multiple exposure, low light, high key, also foreground background. We get many ideas from photographers around us or even from details in our lives.

Honestly from our experiences, we don’t always get intimacy from every couple. However, we can still make them look good. Using other elements is a key, for example: landscape, lighting, props (like an animal), or anything that works.

Our major gear is Nikon. We love Nikon because of its sharpness, dynamic range, auto-focus, speed and low-light focus capability. We primarily use the Nikon 35mm f/1.4 and Nikon 85mm f/1.4. For wide-angle shots we usually use Sigma 20mm f/1.8 (it’s also famous for its red ring flare) or Sigma 35mm f/1.4.

Another lens that we use is Helios-40-2 85mm f/1.5 for getting crazy swirly bokeh, and a Lensbaby for creating best tilt shift effect that you can get when you think the real tilt shift lens is too expensive. For a flash we use a Godox, which we think is the best 3rd party flash for Nikon
