You may recall from our sidebar events that a couple weeks ago, myself and Matt Bors, as well as cartoonist Ron Wimberly and The Media Consortium’s Erin Polgreen were appearing on a panel on graphic journalism at the National Conference for Media Reform in Boston, moderated by GRITtv’s Sarah Jaffe. I covered the conference for Truthout in drawings done mostly on-site. Without giving too much away, I found the general attitude of NCMR less self-congratulatory and more self-motivational, and I was surprised and pleased by the realization that so many of these media people had come together not to show off to one another, but to work together.
